Adrien Rabiot will stay at Paris Saint-Germain in January - Nasser Al Khelaifi

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has promised France Under-21 international midfielder Adrien Rabiot will remain at the club through the January transfer window.

Rabiot caused a stir among PSG fans and was booed by his own supporters during the 2-0 defeat of Shakhtar Donetsk last Tuesday after threatening to force a move away from the club.

Rabiot, who has been linked with a switch to Arsenal in recent weeks, told Telefoot that he was expecting to be allowed to leave on loan in January should he drop to the bench following Marco Verratti's return from injury.

PSG coach Laurent Blanc said before the Champions League game with Shakhtar that Rabiot's comments had angered him and also accused the player of not respecting the club.

Al-Khelaifi admitted on Friday, while he was disappointed with the 20-year-old's actions, the club has no intention of letting him go in the upcoming transfer window.

"I was very disappointed -- I said it to his face. His statements are unacceptable," Al-Khelaifi told France's Le Figaro.

"I didn't appreciate at all that he delcared that a loan would be a Christmas present. It's a complete lack of respect towards his first club who did so much for him.

"He's 20 years old, plays regularly in a big team. He's come through the youth academy -- the club has given him a lot. I'll never accept that he considers himself more important than the club.

"The club will always be more important than any player. He's a big talent. My dream is that he might become captain of PSG one day. But he has to respect the club, the coach and his teammates.

"He's part of the PSG family and he should respect it. He understood the message. He'll be there at 100 per cent in January."
