Bournemouth chairman confident Eddie Howe will stay long-term

Bournemouth's chairman isn't worried about his manager Eddie Howe being poached by Arsenal or any other club in the near future.

Howe has been tipped by some as a possible to successor to Arsene Wenger when the Frenchman eventually leaves the Arsenal job, while he was also mentioned as a candidate for England coach before Sam Allardyce was hired by the FA.

But Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn is confident that his prized manager, who led the team to promotion two seasons ago, is there for the long haul.

"Eddie is committed to the work he started with us and in his words there is still unfinished business," Mostyn told the Daily Mail. "I know he wants to stabilise the club so that we're a regular member of the Premier League elite.

"It's immensely flattering when people are interested in our manager or players but at the same time we could probably do without that. It does have an affect on people."

Howe played a big part in convincing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere to join the club on loan this season after he decided to leave the Emirates in search of more playing time.

The 38-year-old Englishman also preaches a similar style of play to Wenger, with a focus on possession-based attacking football, which has helped fuel speculation about the Arsenal job.

"It's immensely flattering when people are interested in our manager or players but at the same time we could probably do without that. It does have an affect on people," Mostyn said.

'He's developing all the time and when you have an insatiable appetite for development you're always going to have a winning model. He's only just signed a new contract and that's an ever-evolving thing.

"You've seen the model at Tottenham with Mauricio Pochettino signing his players to long-term contracts.

"That can only bring additional harmony. Our strapline, 'Together anything is possible,' can only be if you look after your personnel."
