AC Milan's Barbara Berlusconi coy over Silvio Berlusconi's plans for club

AC Milan vice-president Barbara Berlusconi says she has been sworn to secrecy as rumours grow about her father Silvio being set to sell the Serie A club.

Several investors from China have been linked with buying out Berlusconi Sr.'s majority share in Milan and it now seems likely that it is just a matter of time before the club changes hands for the first time in almost three decades.

Speaking after announcing the extension of a sponsorship deal with Audi by two years, Berlusconi Jr. revealed that she is not permitted to talk about the speculation surrounding Milan's future.

"Since I am general manager of AC Milan, I've signed a non-disclosure agreement," she told reporters. "I am obliged not to respond to your questions."

She did, however, say that China "is a fundamental market for us" and added: "In general, Milan are looking at Asia because it's an important market, particularly right now, and that is why we will be going on a tour of Asia in the summer."

Chinese investor Bee Taechaubol was reported to have reached an agreement with Berlusconi Sr. last month, although the current owner had been granted a three-month period in which he could change his mind before the deal would go through.

There have been reports in recent days of other groups, predominantly from China and the Far East, making alternative bids for the club.
