AC Milan majority shareholders deny reports of Thai takeover bid

AC Milan's majority shareholders have issued a statement to say they are not interested in selling their stake after reports suggested a Thai investor wanted to take over.

Reports in Thailand claimed Bee Taechaubol had tabled a bid for the Serie A club, but they have been denied by shareholders Fininvest.

The reports follow increasing speculation in Italy that the club could be sold.

In a statement, Fininvest said: "With respect to recent media reports, Fininvest reiterates that it is not interested in the sale of the majority shareholding of AC Milan.

"Otherwise, the company reiterates the words of the statement made on Feb. 14: various parties have shown interest in partnerships relating to Milan.

"However, there are no firm talks, let alone agreements or decisive meetings on the agenda."
