Aaron Ramsey to miss Wales' World Cup qualifiers against Austria, Georgia

Aaron Ramsey will again be absent when Wales continue their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign against Austria and Georgia next week.

Ramsey, 25, has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury during Arsenal's 4-3 Premier League defeat against Liverpool last month.

The midfielder, who was arguably Wales' star performer during their memorable Euro 2016 campaign, has not been included in manager Chris Coleman's squad for the Austria game in Vienna next Thursday, which is followed by a game against Georgia in Cardiff three days later.

Coleman said: "It's a huge disappointment for us not to have Aaron Ramsey -- we hope he can get back as quick as he can.

"Aaron will be gutted because I know how much it means to him to play for both Arsenal and Wales."

Wales, who began their World Cup qualifying schedule with a 4-0 home win against Moldova, will also be without Ipswich on-loan midfielder Jonny Williams, who has only recently returned to light training following injury.

There is a squad recall for Wigan midfielder Shaun MacDonald, though, who is preferred to George Williams.

Wales squad: Wayne Hennessey, Danny Ward, Owain Fon Williams, Ben Davies, James Chester, James Collins, Paul Dummett, Chris Gunter, Ashley Richards, Neil Taylor, Ashley Williams, Joe Allen, David Edwards, Emyr Huws, Andy King, Tom Lawrence, David Edwards, Joe Ledley, Shaun MacDonald, Gareth Bale, Simon Church, David Cotterill, Hal Robson-Kanu, Sam Vokes.
