Argentina's Sergio Aguero hopes to return for Brazil clash

Sergio Aguero has said he hopes to be fit for Argentina's World Cup qualifier with Brazil on Nov. 13.

Manchester City striker Aguero suffered a grade-two hamstring injury while playing for his country against Ecuador last week.

He said afterwards that he hoped to be back in four weeks, but there were reports he could be sidelined for up to two months.

However, the 27-year-old has set his sights on playing a part in a World Cup qualifier on Nov. 13.

"I hope I can be there against Brazil, but the injury must be let recover a bit so there is no relapse," he said at a news conference. "This is an injury you have to recover bit by bit, but of course I want to be back quickly."

Aguero, who misses Argentina's qualifier away to Paraguay on Wednesday, could miss up to seven City games and is set to sit out the Manchester derby on Oct. 25, plus potentially both Champions League ties against Sevilla.

City also face Bournemouth, Norwich and Aston Villa in the Premier League and Crystal Palace in the Capital One Cup before the next international break.

The former Atletico Madrid forward set a Premier League record by scoring five goals in 20 minutes on his last appearance for City, in the 6-1 win over Newcastle.
