West Ham striker Andy Carroll is facing up two months on the sidelines with the hamstring injury he sustained in the 3-1 win at Bournemouth on Tuesday, sources have told ESPN FC.
Sources have told ESPN FC that initial scans have shown injury-plagued Carroll has suffered a slight tear to his hamstring which is set to keep him out of action for eight weeks.
Carroll, 27, has suffered numerous injury problems since joining the Hammers permanently in summer 2013, and was substituted after 15 minutes of Tuesday night's victory.
The England striker had returned to form and fitness before his latest setback with two goals in his previous two Premier League games, but Hammers boss Slaven Bilic admits Carroll's absence is yet another loss to his injury-hit squad.
"It's a big blow for us because he started this game good," BBC Sport reports Bilic as saying. "I don't understand it because we're resting the players.
"We're not training a lot. We can only hope it won't last that long."
Bournemouth looked on course for victory on Tuesday after Harry Arter opened the scoring with 17 minutes gone, but West Ham netted three in 17 second-half minutes to secure a fine comeback victory on the south coast.
Dimtri Payet hauled the visitors level with a fine free kick shortly after the hour mark, before Enner Valencia netted twice to earn the win -- the Hammers' third consecutive league victory, which saw them rise to fifth in the table.
Bilic is currently missing Cheikhou Kouyate (groin), Manuel Lanzini (thigh), Victor Moses (hamstring) and Diafra Sakho (thigh), with Carroll's injury placing further strain on a weakened front line.
