West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho wants to be the first goalscorer at the club's new Olympic Stadium home.

The Hammers leave Upton Park to move to their new home, the centrepiece of the 2012 London Games, at the end of next season.

And speaking to the club's official website, Sakho said he was eyeing the honour of being the first West Ham player to score a goal at the ground in Stratford, East London.

This season's leading Hammers goal-scorer, who has been on target 12 times, said: "It's beautiful, I'd even say magnificent.

"I'm eager to play there and pleased with everything that I've seen. I would like to score the first goal in the new stadium. That would be amazing.

"I hope to score the last goal at Upton Park as well and then the first one here. You have to be ambitious.

"The first day that we step out there, we're going to feel that we've really gone to a new level. To go from 35,000 [capacity] to 54,000 is massive."
