Ravel Morrison's contract terminated by West Ham, Lazio linked

West Ham have announced the termination of Ravel Morrison's contract with immediate effect.

Morrison, 22, has been linked with a move to Lazio, with reports suggesting he has already agreed to join the Italian Seire A side on a free transfer at the end of the season.

A statement on the West Ham website read: West Ham United can confirm that the Club have reached agreement with Ravel Morrison to terminate his contract with immediate effect. The 22-year-old midfielder joined West Ham in January 2012 and made 24 appearances in his three years at the Club, scoring five goals. The Hammers would like to wish Ravel every success in his future career."

The midfielder joined the Hammers in January 2012 after a two-year stint at Manchester United, and made 24 appearances in three years for Sam Allardyce's side.

However, a series of disciplinary problems hampered his progress at Upton Park and he was loaned to Birmingham, Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff City.
