Michy Batshuayi scores first goals for Chelsea in friendly victory

Michy Batshuayi scored twice as Chelsea beat Atus Ferlach 8-0 in a friendly behind closed doors in Austria on Thursday.

The match against the local side was not promoted but saw the Premier League cruise to victory before their preseason campaign shifts to the United States.

Loic Remy recorded a hat trick while new signing Batshuayi scored his first goals in a Chelsea shirt. Pedroa also added a brace and John Obi Mikel scored the Blues' other goal.

Salomon Rondon and Callum McManaman scored as West Brom beat Vitesse Arnhem in a friendly in the Netherlands.

Rondon unleashed a 25-yard effort in the 26th minute that touched the crossbar on the way in, but the hosts were able to equlise when Nathan de Souza tapped in a rebound early in the second half.

McManaman found the winner on 70 minutes with a strong shot inside the right post.

The Baggies on Saturday will play PSV, who cruised to a 3-0 win over Porto, with Davy Proepper and Rai Vloet scoring either side of a Felipe own goal.

In Uruguay, Celta Vigo defeated La Liga rivals Deportivo La Coruna 2-0 with goals from Iago Aspas and Nemanja Radoja.

Also on Thursday, some Serie A sides cruised to leisurely wins. Newly promoted Crotone had the biggest scoreline at 16-0 over Real Roccabernarda, with five goals coming from Raffaele Palladino.

Torino were close behind with an 11-0 win over Casatese Rogoredo as Andrea Belotti scored a hat trick, while Sassuolo beat Castelvetro 8-0.

Atalanta squeaked out a 1-0 win over Giana Erminio, while French club Lille also won 1-0 over Waasland-Beveren.
