Tottenham target Saido Berahino undervalued at £15m - Darren Fletcher

West Bromwich Albion selling striker Saido Berahino for the £15 million fee Tottenham are reportedly lining up is not enough to prise him from The Hawthorns, according to club captain Darren Fletcher.

Berahino, 21, scored 14 Premier League goals for West Brom in the 2014-15 season. Sources have told ESPN FC that Spurs are prepared to make a bid for the England under-21 international,

Former Manchester United midfielder Fletcher has praised Berahino's attitude in training and his ability to score goals.but Fletcher believes any club that wants the forward must be willing to pay big.

"The figures branded, I've seen £15 million," Fletcher told talkSport. "I can't see the club selling him for that, it'll take a lot more than that because of how important he is.

"He's vital to us -- he's our main goal-scoring threat."

Fletcher described Berahino's attitude on and off the pitch as being top class, adding that he's come in even hungrier ahead of the upcoming season.

"I can't speak highly enough of him, since the day I stepped in the door and getting to know him and passing on some advice," Fletcher said.

"He was really disappointed to miss the Under-21 European Championships and he really wants a big season this year. He's one of those players who constantly does your head in as he always wants the ball.

"He's very important to us, I think we've got a good chance of keeping him, it'll take a real big offer to take him away because of how much quality he has."

Despite reports suggesting Spurs had already lodged a bid for Berahino, West Brom took to Twitter in recent days to deny that an offer had been made.

Their tweet, posted on July 28, read: "Ok, this is getting silly now. So let us make it clear. There has been NO bid for Saido. That's it. Carry on everyone."
