Saido Berahino allegedly fires Aidy Ward over Raheem Sterling saga

West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino has sacked his agent, Aidy Ward, reportedly in response to the long-running Raheem Sterling saga.

Ward, also Sterling's representative, played a key role in the fallout between the 20-year-old and his current club Liverpool, making several controversial comments to the media in May when contract talks had ground to a halt.

Berahino only joined Ward's Impact Sports Management last season, but has now severed ties with the company.

"I'm no longer working with Saido," Ward said according to the Mail. "You'll have to ask him for the reasons."

Ward also opened up about the recent developments in the Sterling fiasco, after the attacker refused to join Liverpool on their preseason tour of Asia and did not report for training on Wednesday citing illness.

"With Raheem, there has been a breakdown in trust between him and Brendan Rodgers."
