Walter Mazzarri signs 3-year Watford deal, according to agent

Former Napoli and Inter Milan boss Walter Mazzarri has signed a three-year deal to become Watford's next manager, according to his agent.

Watford, however, have yet to confirm the deal.

Mazzarri, 54, spent four years in Naples before a year and a half stint at the San Siro, and will replace Quique Sanchez Flores, who parted company with the Premier League club at the end of the season.

"He has signed for three years," Mazzarri's agent, Andrea D'Amico, told calciomercato.com on Friday.

"He chose the quality of the project and his faith in the Pozzo family ahead of other offers.

"He will certainly do very well."

Mazzarri has spent his entire coaching career in Italy, and led Napoli to the Coppa Italia crown in 2011.

Watford gained automatic promotion from the Championship last term under Slavisa Jokanovic, and finished 13th in the league table under Flores.

Flores led the club to the FA Cup semifinals this campaign, but they lost 2-1 against Crystal Palace at Wembley.
