Watford charged by FA over penalty protest against Bournemouth

Watford have been hit with a Football Association charge following last Saturday's 1-1 draw at Bournemouth.

The Hornets players were unhappy when referee Michael Oliver gave Bournemouth an 82nd-minute penalty for Etienne Capoue's foul on Adam Smith.

But their protests have earned the club an FA rap for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

An FA statement read: "The alleged breach of FA Rule E20 is in relation to surrounding the match official in the 82nd minute of the game against Bournemouth on Oct.  3, 2015.

"The club has until 6 p.m. on Oct. 12, 2015 to respond to the charge."

Hornets goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes saved Glenn Murray's penalty as Watford clung on for a point.
