Kit Symons, Tony Roberts handed Wales coaching roles

Kit Symons has rejoined national team manager Chris Coleman's coaching staff, the Football Association of Wales has announced.

Symons' return was expected following Paul Trollope's departure to focus on his head coach duties at Championship club Cardiff.

The 45-year-old former defender left the Wales set-up in the summer of 2015 after being appointed Fulham boss.

But Symons was sacked by Fulham last November after a disappointing run of results and has been out of work since.

Tony Roberts also joins the Wales staff as goalkeeping coach following the country's march to the semifinals of Euro 2016.

The Swansea goalkeeping coach replaces Martyn Margetson, who has joined England's backroom staff under Sam Allardyce.

The FAW said in a statement: "Symons and Roberts will begin their work with Wales when the players meet on camp next week to prepare for their first World Cup qualifier against Moldova at Cardiff City Stadium on Monday, 5 September."
