Wolfsburg not looking to replace Dieter Hecking - Klaus Allofs

Wolfsburg are not looking for a new coach and will enter next season with current boss Dieter Hecking in charge, the club's sporting executive Klaus Allofs has said.

Saturday's 3-2 defeat at Werder Bremen means Wolfsburg trail the Europa League qualification spots by six points, while they have now won only 13 points in 2016.

The worrying slump in form has led to rumours that Hecking could lose his job this summer with Wolfsburg already looking for a successor.

"Those rumours are 0.0 percent true," Allofs told kicker. "Without ifs and buts, we are not looking for a new coach."

However, Wolfsburg will look to make changes to their squad this summer.

Players such as midfielder Luiz Gustavo and left-back Ricardo Rodriguez have buy-out clauses in their contracts and in recent weeks have already dropped hints that they are seeking an exit.

"It's known that a few have the chance to leave by triggering a release clause," Allofs said. "But we will not be terrified. It's a good opportunity to change a few things. We will certainly not go into the new season with the team we have right now."

Earlier this month, Wolfsburg signed Stuttgart midfielder Daniel Didavi for next season.
