Kevin De Bruyne is 'unsellable' according to Wolfsburg CEO

Wolfsburg CEO Klaus Allofs has described the club's in-demand midfielder Kevin De Bruyne as unsellable, amid continued speculation over the future of the 23-year-old Belgian international.

Manchester City have been linked with a move for attacking midfielder De Bruyne in recent days, but Allofs has suggested his club are in no rush to sell the former Chelsea star this summer.

"At the moment, I'd call him unsellable," he told German TV show Doppelpass, in comments appearing in the Daily Mail.

"I am 100 percent convinced he will play for us next year. However, in football things can develop so rapidly, that you can't say this now."

De Bruyne joined Wolfsburg from Chelsea for £18 million in January 2014 and has impressed in his first full season with the club, scoring 15 goals in all competitions and providing 20 assists in the Bundesliga this season.

De Bruyne's agent Patrick De Koster confirmed last week that he has held meetings with Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich over the future of his client, as he suggested a meeting with Wolfburg over his client's future is imminent.

"I will know if they want to offer a Kevin a new deal or allow him to move," De Koster said. "If Wolfsburg decide to sell Kevin then he will have a choice of clubs who can win their domestic league and challenge for the Champions League as well. The choice is his."

Allofs' comments may have been designed to defuse the rumours around De Bruyne's future, but the second part of his quotes may well fuel the suspicions that he could make a move back to the Premier League this summer.
