Bas Dost determined to get back among the goals for Wolfsburg

Bas Dost wants to end his five-match goal drought when Wolfsburg host bottom club Stuttgart at the weekend.

Dost, 25, finally found his feet in the Bundesliga earlier this year, scoring 14 goals in nine matches. He has since hit a dry patch, and was rested in the 1-1 draw with Mainz in their last fixture.

He made his debut for Netherlands during the international break, coming off the bench against Turkey and Spain.

Speaking to local newspaper Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung following his return from the Dutch camp, Dost said that he wants to get among the goals as soon as possible.

"It's about time I hit the back of the net again," Dost said. "I have a great mind to score again. But it's normal that sometimes you don't score. We won those games regardless."

A victory over Stuttgart would take the Wolves a big step nearer to Champions League qualification. With only eight games left to play, they have a huge 15-point lead over Schalke, the first club outside the top four.

"We need to win the match, simple as that," Dost said, and added on his Netherlands debut that it was "a super moment" for him to represent his country on the international stage.
