Andre Schurrle will score Wolfsburg goals after Chelsea move - Hecking

Andre Schurrle will be allowed time to settle in at Wolfsburg, having struggled to make an impact at his new club so far.

Schurrle, 24, left Chelsea after 18 months with the Premier League side on the final day of the January transfer window.

After returning to Stamford Bridge last summer as a World Cup winner, the Germany international found regular first-team football hard to come by.

With Blues manager Jose Mourinho also needing funds for the transfer of Juan Cuadrado, the winger left the club for Wolfsburg.

Upon his arrival at Wolfsburg the 32 million euro signing said that "a development over the past month or so" made him come "to the conclusion that I needed to change something."

Schurrle went on to set up two goals in his Wolfsburg debut against Hoffenheim, but has failed to shine in the games that followed.

The Germany international has yet to find the back of the net for his new club, but his coach Dieter Hecking believes that this only a question of time.

"Andre did not have a playing rhythm at Chelsea, he needs some warm-up time," the Wolfsburg coach told reporters.

"And he will get that time. It's only a question of time until he finally scores," he added and drew parallels to Kevin De Bruyne, who also made the move from Stamford Bridge to the Volkswagen Arena last year, and only opened his account in his 13th match.

"We know he can do better, and we will be patient," sporting executive Klaus Allofs added, while Schurrle was also far from panicking. "I will score goals," he said.
