Stuttgart keeper Mitch Langerak suffers hamstring injury

Stuttgart goalkeeper Mitch Langerak will miss the start of the season after pulling his hamstring in training.

Australia international Langerak only joined the Swabians last week from Borussia Dortmund, but now faces between four and six weeks on the sidelines.

As a result, he is not likely to be fit for their opening Bundesliga game of the season against Cologne, or their DFB Pokal first-round fixture with Holstein Kiel a week earlier.

"Injuries always come at a bad time, but Mitch is a positive lad and he'll fight his way back quickly," Stuttgart coach Alexander Zorniger said.

Fellow new goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton will now have the chance to prove he should be the club's No. 1, with Zorniger having said the duo would have to fight for the position.

Stuttgart sold keeper Sven Ulreich to Bayern Munich this summer.
