Layhoon Chan to step down as president of Valencia

Layhoon Chan has tendered her resignation as Valencia president and will step down in the summer, the Spanish club have announced.

Chan was appointed to the post in late 2014 in the wake of the club's takeover by Singapore billionaire Peter Lim.

Anil Murthy, Valencia's executive director who joined the club last September, will replace Chan as president.

A Valencia statement read: "Layhoon Chan has presented her resignation as president and member of the board of directors at Valencia, effective from July 1, 2017. Anil Murthy, the current executive director at the club, will assume the role of president from that date.

Valencia have moved up to 12th in LaLiga on the back of three successive wins.
