Cesare Prandelli to become new Valencia manager - reports

Cesare Prandelli will take over as the new coach of La Liga strugglers Valencia, according to multiple reports in Italy.

It was reported that Prandelli has signed a two-year deal, with the announcement of his appointment expected soon.

The former Italy coach was reported to have held talks in Italy with sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch, with Valencia owner Peter Lim backing him to revitalise the club.

Valencia sacked Pako Ayesteran after beginning the new season with four consecutive defeats, but have since won two games under caretaker manager Voro.

Reports said Prandelli, whose most recent job was at Turkish club Galatasaray, would begin working with the Valencia players on Monday.
