Valencia must improve very quickly, says interim boss Voro

Valencia interim coach Voro Gonzalez says he hopes to turn around the club's fortunes in a hurry.

Voro took over the Spanish club on an interim basis for the fourth time after Pako Ayestaran was sacked on Tuesday.

And with zero points from four games, Valencia have very little time to waste in righting the ship, the 52-year-old said.

"The most important thing is the will to make things right," he said in a news conference.

"The future is imminent and tomorrow. I want to see what we want to achieve. I've talked to the players about what the situation is.

"Sometimes you do everything and the results do not accompany it. In the locker room there is a very good atmosphere, but football is so treacherous and this is something we cannot control.

"There is still a lot of games in La Liga. If you're not competitive, it is very complicated.

"In the end you have to always win. If we seek excellence that is a team that defends well, attacks well, score goals... we must find a balance. We have to change, but there is not much time."

Ayestaran, whose time in charge ended less than six months after he replaced Gary Neville, said his departure from Valencia was unfair.

"I believe in myself, I had total belief to move this situation forward," he said at a news conference. "The decision to dismiss me is not fair.

"I feel strong enough to have been able to reverse the situation, but the club has not considered this the case and must be respected. They will have their reasons.

"I'm very disappointed, I have to analyse what my mistakes were so as not to repeat them.

"I want to thank everyone, it has been a great experience, despite being short, and it is a shame we've not been able to achieve the goals we set."
