Phil Neville and Voro to take temporary charge of Valencia - report

Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville and fellow Valencia coach Salvador Gonzalez will take temporary charge of the club after Nuno left his role following Sunday's defeat to Sevilla.

Spanish media outlet AS reported that club official Kim Noh had informed Neville and Gonzalez -- known as Voro -- of the decision after Nuno said he would not be carrying on amid a slump in form.

AS said the situation would continue "until further notice" and the two coaches would oversee training as Valencia prepare for a midweek Copa del Rey match against Barakaldo.

Nuno informed the media of his decision to stand down immediately after the Sevilla game, but that will only become official after talks with directors on Monday, AS said.

Club owner Peter Lim will be involved in the discussions from his base in Singapore, and an official statement will then be released.

Later on Monday, the club tweeted pictures of Neville and Voro taking training.

On Sunday, Nuno, 41, said: "It has been an honour to coach Valencia. I want to thank all the players for their efforts and thank Peter Lim and the fans of a great club.

"We have the youngest squad in the league, and it is important Valencia follow through and believe in this project.

"On Monday, there will be a meeting to clarify the future."

Captain Dani Parejo said after Nuno's remarks: "We've got training tomorrow -- but we don't know with who."

Neville served as a first-team coach at Manchester United under former Old Trafford manager David Moyes, for whom he played at Everton.
