USOC quarterfinal between FC Cincinnati, Miami FC rescheduled

FC Cincy fans
FC Cincinnati have beaten two MLS clubs on their way to the quarterfinals.

The postponed U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal match between Miami FC and FC Cincinnati has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 2.

The match, which was to take place on Thursday, was called off after heavy thunderstorms in South Florida.

The game between the last two sides from outside MLS remaining in the competition was halted two hours before finally being postponed.

Each team has eliminated two MLS clubs along their improbable bids to become the first non-MLS team to reach the USOC final since 2011.

The winner of the match will host the New York Red Bulls, who defeated the New England Revolution on Thursday, in the semifinal round a week later.
