Edinson Cavani was recalled to Uruguay's squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Chile on Nov. 12 and 17 after serving a two-match suspension for an incident with Chile defender Gonzalo Jara during the Copa America.

Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez opted not to call up Club Atletico Independiente's Cristian "Cebolla" Rodriguez, Getafe defender Emiliano Velazquez and Deportivo la Coruna's Jonathan Rodriguez.

Cavani -- who was Uruguay's first-choice striker in the absence of the suspended Luis Suarez -- was sent off in Chile's 1-0 quarterfinal victory over Uruguay after responding to provocation from Jara, who was caught by TV cameras poking the player's backside.

The Paris Saint-Germain star reacted by slapping his opponent and, while contact appeared to be light, Jara dropped to the ground with his hand to his face.

Rodriguez, who spent three seasons with Atletico Madrid, injured his right leg as Uruguay beat Bolivia 2-0 and suffered a recurrence during a club match on Oct. 28.

Ecuador host Uruguay on Nov. 12 in Quito and Chile in Montevideo on Nov. 17.
