U.S. men's national team to host Peru in East Hartford for October friendly

The U.S. men's national team will play Peru in an exhibition on Oct. 16 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field East Hartford, Connecticut (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2).

The match, announced Friday, is among six in the latter part of the year for the Americans, and follows an Oct. 12 game against Colombia at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

They play Brazil on Friday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, then face Mexico on Tuesday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee (8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).

The U.S. then will close out 2018 against England on Nov. 15 at Wembley in London (3:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2) and against Italy five days later at a site to be announced.

After failing to qualify for the World Cup, the U.S. is being led by interim coach Dave Sarachan. U.S. men's national team general manager Earnie Stewart has said his plan is to name a permanent coach before the end of the year.
