United States confirms 40-man preliminary squad for Gold Cup

The United States' 40-man preliminary squad for July's CONCACAF Gold Cup has been confirmed, with Jesse Gonzalez being included in Bruce Arena's plans.

The 22-year-old FC Dallas keeper is eligible to play for both Mexico and the U.S., but appears to have confirmed his allegiance to the the Red, White and Blue with Saturday's call-up.

Also included in the squad is English-born Sporting Kansas City forward Dom Dwyer, who has recently become a U.S. citizen.

Julian Green, Gyasi Zardes and Gedion Zelalem have all been omitted from the squad.

The Americans' first Gold Cup game is on July 8 against Panama in Nashville, Tennessee.
