United States striker Bobby Wood making big progress - Bruno Labbadia

A strong Copa America showing could cement Bobby Wood's spot in the U.S. lineup.
United States striker Bobby Wood is joining Hamburg.

Hamburg coach Bruno Labbadia has said he believes Bobby Wood has taken another step forward in his career at the Copa America.

United States international attacker Wood will join the Bundesliga club following the tournament.

The 23-year-old signed from second-tier side Union Berlin before leaving Germany for the Copa America Centario in the United States.

He has started three games at the tournament, scoring in the 4-0 defeat of Costa Rica last week.

Speaking to Bild, Labbadia said: "I have the feeling that he has just taken another next step in his development."

Earlier this year, United States head coach Jurgen Klinsmann backed Wood to make a move to the German top flight, and Labbadia added: "The feedback I receive is good."
