The United States under-17s defeated hosts France 3-2 to win the Montaigu Tournament title on Monday.
The victory marked the second time the U.S. has won the tournament, having also lifted the trophy in 1992.

Tim Weah -- son of ex-AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain great George Weah -- opened the scoring for the United States in the fifth minute after a goalkeeping error from France keeper Yahia Fofana left the PSG U17 forward with an empty net at which to shoot.
Mattias Phaeton then equalised on the half-hour mark for Les Bleus, and Rennais Kerouedan gave the French the lead just before the half.
However the determined Americans wouldn't be denied and rode a pair of goals, both a direct result of French goalkeeping gaffes, from George Acosta in the second half to victory in the eight-team tournament.

The Americans reached the final after draws against Brazil and England and a defeat of Russia in the group stage.
Acosta finished the tournament with six goals in four games.
