United States revises training camp squad

CHICAGO -- Goalkeeper David Bingham, defenders Steve Birnbaum and Brandon Vincent, and midfielder Perry Kitchen have been added to the U.S. roster for a training camp ahead of exhibition games against Iceland and Canada.

The U.S. Soccer Federation said Friday that a pair of San Jose players had been dropped because of injuries: midfielder Fatai Alashe (groin) and defender Marc Pelosi (tendinitis).

With the additions of Bingham and Vincent, 12 of the 25 players headed to camp have never appeared for the national team. Vincent helped Stanford win the NCAA title last month along with forward Jordan Morris, who also is on the U.S. roster.

Training starts Monday at Carson, California, where the U.S. plays Iceland on Jan. 31 and Canada on Feb. 5.
