Michael Bradley, Jordan Morris added to U.S. squad for Brazil match

The United States has added Michael Bradley, Jordan Morris and Sean Johnson to its squad for Tuesday's friendly against Brazil (8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2/WatchESPN).

Jurgen Klinsmann's team staged a nice comeback against Peru on Friday, riding two second-half goals from Jozy Altidore to a 2-1 win.

Bradley sat out that game so he could play over the weekend in Toronto FC's match against Seattle, which the Sounders won 2-1.

Stanford University standout Morris rejoins the team after a stint out with an injury and Chicago Fire goalkeeper Johnson comes in to replace William Yarbrough, who's heading back to his Liga MX club Leon.

Matt Besler will also return to play with his club, Sporting Kansas City, after taking part in the Peru game.

"We were impressed with Matt Besler this past week," Klinsmann said. "We definitely saw what we needed to see from him as we prepare for the Mexico clash and Sporting KC badly wanted him back for Wednesday, so we agreed to send him home."

Clint Dempsey was also expected to join back up with his U.S. teammates for the Brazil match as he works his way back from a hamstring injury. Dempsey played for Seattle over the weekend, scoring the team's winner in the 77th minute.

"I had a good conversation with Clint," Klinsmann said. "He's still not 100 percent and we agreed it's best to let him stay with Seattle to allow him to continue making progress ahead of next month's match against Mexico."

The U.S. is building toward a critical Oct. 10 match versus Mexico for a berth in the 2017 Confederations Cup.
