Juan Agudelo, Julian Green, DeAndre Yedin on U.S. roster for Mexico

Fresh off his Tottenham debut weekend, defender DeAndre Yedlin was among 22 players picked for the United States' exhibition game against Mexico on Wednesday night in San Antonio.

The 21-year-old, acquired by Spurs from Seattle and Major League Soccer in January, entered in the 79th minute of Saturday's 1-0 Premier League loss to Aston Villa in London.

Yedlin and Hamburg forward Julian Green were the only two Europe-based players selected for the match. Green also has seen little playing time for his club.

New England forward Juan Agudelo also was on the roster announced Sunday by U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann. While Agudelo has 18 national team appearances, he has played in just one international match since November 2012, as an 85th-minute substitute against Ukraine in March 2014.

His career slowed when he left the Revolution to sign with England's Stoke City in January 2014, failed to get a British work permit and was loaned to the Netherlands' Utrecht for the latter part of the 2013-14 season. He returned to the Revolution in January.

U.S. captain Clint Dempsey, sidelined since a hamstring injury in training last month, will miss the game, which is preparation for this summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup. Forward Jozy Altidore is serving a one-game suspension after his red card against Switzerland last month.
