Cranes captain Onyango unhappy over Micho issue

Uganda captain Denis Onyango says the uncertainty over head coach Milutin Sredojevic's future is worrying.

The Serbian tactician is reportedly on his way out after a fallout with the country's FA over unpaid wages believed to be around $64 000.

Interestingly, this development comes after the Uganda FA submitted an accountability report earlier this month to the government indicating that Sredojevic had been paid $63 426 as emoluments under the 2017 Afcon accountability.

The State Minister for Sports, Charles Bakkabulindi, had requested that the FA send their accountability report showing how they have used the money from local sponsors, the government, the Confederation of African Football and FIFA.

Sredojevic is apparently wanted in South Africa and Saudi Arabia, and Onyango tells KweséESPN that the coach's departure would be a massive blow to the Cranes.

"This is very disturbing news because we have been with the coach since 2013 and we have recorded lots of success, including qualification for the 2017 Afcon after 38 years," he says.

Onyango, who won the 2016 CAF Champions League with Mamelodi Sundowns, says he spoke to Sredojevic a few days ago and the coach made it clear he was quitting.

"He was very emotional when we met before the 2018 Africa Nations Championship qualifier against South Sudan. He told me he had made up his mind to leave because he cannot work under such bad conditions anymore."
