Anderlecht 'a disgrace' over Man United ticket prices - supporters

Anderlecht fans have accused the club of "a lack of consideration" and called them "a disgrace" over high ticket prices for Thursday's Europa League quarterfinal first leg against Manchester United.

A banner stating "€40 for a standing place? Shame on 'our' directors" was attached to railings at the main entrance to the Belgian club's Constant Vanden Stock stadium on Monday.

Seat tickets normally range from €28 to €40 for games for the Belgian First Division side.

Supporters are upset at the price hike for the game against of Jose Mourinho's side having already faced long and costly trips to Azerbaijan, Russia and Cyprus to follow their team en route to the last eight of the competition.

"It's a lack of consideration towards the '12th man' and a disgrace from our club officials," an unnamed Anderlecht fan is reported as saying by La Derniere Heure.

The game with United is already sold out, though three tickets were available from an online ticketing service at £427.50 on Tuesday.
