Christian Benteke and Liverpool rallied to defeat Bordeaux 2-1 at Anfield and advance to the knockout stage of the Europa League on Thursday.
The French side took the lead through Henri Saivet's goal in the 33rd minute after Simon Mignolet was whistled for holding the ball too long and the referee awarded an indirect free kick in the box.
But Liverpool were back level five minutes later when Benteke drew a foul in the penalty area and James Milner converted from the spot.
The hosts went ahead when Benteke received the ball at the top of the box and had room to turn and fire a strong shot into the net with the last kick of the first half.
