Tottenham charged by UEFA for Europa League pitch invaders

Tottenham have been charged by UEFA for the pitch invasions that caused their Europa League tie with Partizan Belgrade to be temporarily suspended.

Spurs' progress to the knockout stages was overshadowed on Thursday night by the teams being led off in the 41st minute after a third individual managed to slip onto the White Hart Lane pitch.

Play resumed after a 10-minute break and the hosts went onto triumph 1-0, although the encroachments saw UEFA open disciplinary proceedings against the north London club on Friday.

European football's governing body said in a statement that its control, ethics and disciplinary body would hear the charge on Dec. 11, but Roberto Soldado and Mousa Dembele will not face action for their attempts to stop the pitch invaders.
