Walter Mazzarri: I'm focusing only on Inter Milan's St Etienne clash

Inter Milan coach Walter Mazzarri has brushed off comments by honorary club president Massimo Moratti that his future would be in the balance if results did not start to improve.

As he prepared his side for their Europa League home game against St Etienne, Mazzarri -- who has been under increasing pressure as Inter's fortunes have slumped -- told a news conference: "I'm focusing on our next game, like I always have done.

"I don't have any time to think about other things, and I'm not wasting any energy responding to things or people."

Asked whether he felt the weight of pressure, he added: "I've got nothing to say. All I am trying to do is get the players at my disposal in a position to give me the best they can and to grow, which is what I've been doing ever since I started my journey here.

"There will be a time and place for other answers. All I am thinking about now is my team, then I'll say what I think when the right time comes. But now is not that moment -- I need all my energy for the team."

Inter are in ninth place in Serie A, 10 points behind leaders Juventus, and Mazzarri is under more scrutiny than at any time in a coaching career that has spanned 13 seasons and never seen him sacked.

Inter president Erick Thohir reiterated his backing for the ex-Napoli coach after the weekend's 2-2 draw with his former club, and Mazzarri said: "I know that I've got to get the results with the team, but I'm keeping the rest to myself. I know the real problems, and the club knows everything.

"With all of our strength, we've just got to satisfy our fans -- and that is it."
