Europa League round of 16 draw: when is it and at what time?

The draw is due to take place from around 12.00 GMT, 7 a.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 24.

The first legs will take place on March 9, with the return ties seven days later.

The draw for the quarterfinals will take place on Friday, March 17.

There is no longer any country protection, teams from the same league can now be drawn against each other.

Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes Dele Alli was lucky not to cause KAA Gent's Brecht Dejaegere serious damage after the England man's horror-tackle in Spurs' 2-2 Europa League draw on Thursday.

Alli's was shown a straight red card in the 39th minute, as he lunged high into Dejaegere, leaving Spurs with 10 men in the second leg of a tie they eventually lost to the Belgians 3-2 on aggregate.

LONDON -- Mauricio Pochettino says Dele Alli is "very disappointed and sad" after the midfielder was sent off as Tottenham crashed out of the Europa League against KAA Gent on Thursday.

Alli picked up a straight red card for a horror tackle on Gent's Brecht Dejaegere in the first half and the match finished 2-2, with Gent progressing 3-2 on aggregate after their 1-0 win in Belgium last week.
