Arsenal penalty in Paris Saint-Germain UCL draw was my fault - Krychowiak

LONDON -- Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak has said he accepts the blame for the penalty from which Arsenal got back into Wednesday's 2-2 Champions league draw at the Emirates.

The French champions had been leading 1-0 on the stroke of half-time when Krychowiak gave the ball away on the edge of the area and then fouled on Alexis Sanchez.

Olivier Giroud converted from the spot, and the Poland international told journalists after the match: "I was responsible and I accept the blame.

"Was it a penalty? I do not know -- it is difficult to say," he added. "What was more important was that I lost the ball. That is what created the penalty and their first goal.

"We must erase these sorts of moments from our game because they cost us, like it did here."

Krychowiak, 26, tweeted after the match to reiterate responsibility for his mistake, but teammate Marquinhos said: "When a player makes a mistake, the whole team commits it.

"He played well. He was very strong in winning the ball back for us in midfield. Two or three times he managed to come away with it.

"After that, he made a mistake -- it can happen. He will keep moving forward. We are behind him."

PSG chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi told beIN SPORTS France: "The referee also made a mistake because it was not a penalty.

"I think we deserved to win as we dominated pretty much the whole match. We must accept it [the decision] and move on."
