Cristiano Ronaldo said he "had a vision" that he would score the winning penalty in Real Madrid's Champions League triumph over Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
The Portuguese star netted the clinching penalty in the fifth round of spot kicks after the game finished 1-1 after 120 minutes with Sergio Ramos' opener cancelled out by Yannick Carrasco.
Ronaldo admitted that he had foreseen scoring the decider and specifically asked manager Zinedine Zidane to take the final one of Real's initial five shots.
"I had a vision. I knew I was going to score the winning goal," he said on Spanish TV. "I asked 'Zizou' to let me take the fifth penalty because I was going to score the winning goal."
Entering the game, Ronaldo was the only Real Madrid player to attempt a penalty all season, but he said experience in high-pressure situations served them in Saturday's win.
"The penalties are always a lottery, you never know what will happen but our team showed more experience and we showed it by scoring all the penalties," he said. "A fantastic night for us.
"It is the end of the season and people are not fit, we have to rest and we have to go for the Euros."
The Portuguese added to AS: "I feel joy. We share this Champions League with the fans. I haven't seen my family but obviously this is for them, for the players, for everyone. Many thanks to the fans."
Ronaldo said he was happy to deliver a trophy for Zidane, who previously won the Champions League with Real Madrid as a player in 2002.
"Zidane has done a phenomenal job. He deserves it, he has humility and I'm happy for him," Ronaldo said.
Ronaldo was coy when asked if his 51-goal was deserving of winning the Ballon d'Or.
"Winning the Champions League was first and to be the top scorer. It's the seventh year I've scored more than 50 goals, for the first time in history."
Gareth Bale, who took a penalty despite suffering badly from cramp told BT Sport: "I can't feel a lot, I am cramping up. What an amazing feeling, in extra time we showed resilience, what we are made of and winning the 11th.
"The boys gave everything, the club, the fans have been amazing on this journey and deserve it.
"Atletico gave it a great game and we feel a little bit sorry for them but you have to win a final.
"Some of their players were struggling but we tried not to show it too much. I was nervous after the penalty, not while taking it.
On beating their city and Primera Division rivals, he added: "That's the most important thing [beating their rivals]. Obviously they gave us a great game and we're obviously feeling a little bit sorry for them but a final is a final and you have to win.
"Everyone was struggling... I spoke with a few of their players who were struggling. We tried not to show it too much but we just kept going and I can't wait to lift that trophy again.''
