Jesus Navas: Manchester City can still finish top of Champions League group

Jesus Navas has said he is hoping for a favour from his former club Sevilla to help Manchester City win their Champions League group.

City have already qualified for the knockout stages but lost control of Group D when they were beaten 1-0 at Juventus on Wednesday.

That result has left them at risk of another potentially tough draw, and they now need to beat Borussia Monchengladbach in their final match while hoping Sevilla can overcome Juve if they are to finish top.

Navas said he believed first place could still be achieved, adding: "We were thinking that in every match, and we still think about that now going forward. Let's get three points and see what happens."

Manager Manuel Pellegrini echoed those remarks, saying: "It is a very difficult game that Juventus must play away, as Sevilla need to win that game if they want to continue in the Europa League.

"So, it is one game more and the group is not finished. I hope that Sevilla will win this game and we beat Borussia to finish at the top of the group."
