Yaya Toure believes Juventus 'lucky' to beat Manchester City twice

Yaya Toure has said that Juventus were lucky to beat Manchester City twice in the Champions League after the Serie A club secured a 1-0 victory in Turin.

Max Allegri's team already beat Man City 2-1 in the teams' first meeting in Manchester, with the latest setback seeing Toure's team drop to second place in Group D behind Juve.

"Juve have been lucky to be honest with you, as we had the chances to draw and even win the game," Toure told BT Sport.

"We are quite disappointed. It was a 50-50 game and we had more chances than them. We were not clinical enough, that is part of football, to win you need to score goals and these things can happen."

The injury-hit visitors had a host of chances in an entertaining contest.

Substitute Raheem Sterling had one of the best of them as he shot wide late on, while Fernando had a header turned onto the post and Fernandinho blasted over when well placed.

City again looked vulnerable in defence without captain Vincent Kompany, and are still missing the craft of David Silva while Sergio Aguero is not fully match-fit. They will also be concerned to have lost Joe Hart to injury late on.

"Joe Hart played well, saved two or more goals. In the first and second half we had clear-cut chances to draw, but at the end of the day it's 1-0 to them. We have to deal with that and bounce back in the next game.

"I think we missed quite a few important injured players, but we have a fantastic squad."

Manuel Pellegrini's club will finish off their group stage play against Borussia Monchengladbach on Dec. 8 and still have a chance to beat Juventus for the top spot in the group.
