Sevilla, Man City fans clash ahead of Champions League game - reports

There was fighting on the streets of Seville on Monday night ahead of Tuesday's Champions League Group D fixture between Sevilla and Manchester City, according to reports in both the Spanish and English media.

A video posted to social media on Monday night shows a melee with bottles and punches being thrown outside O'Neills bar on Calle Adriano, which is located near the bullring in Seville's old town -- five minutes' walk from the cathedral and town hall.

This follows clashes which marred the teams' first Champions League Group D meeting in Manchester last month -- which City won 2-1 -- when four individuals were arrested by English police, including reportedly three ultra supporters of Polish club Slask Vroclaw.

"Ultra supporters from Sevilla and Manchester City have been involved in lamentable events right in the city centre," said a report in Seville-based Estadio Deportivo.

"After what happened a few weeks ago in Manchester, today it happened again in Sevilla. In the El Arenal barrio, ultras from both teams took part in a pitched battle in which there were thrown chairs, glasses, bottles and anything they could find nearby."

Last month, five members of Sevilla's "Birris" radical fans' group were arrested after a police investigation into an attack on supporters of rival club Real Betis at a city-centre bar.

City's last Champions League game in Spain, in September 2012 at Real Madrid, saw clashes between police and supporters near the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

In April 2007, a UEFA Cup quarterfinal game between Sevilla and Tottenham saw visiting fans and police clash inside the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan.
