Wolfsburg not at Man United to be Old Trafford 'tourists' - Benaglio

Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio says the Bundesliga club will not just be going along for the ride when they visit Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Die Wolfe could open up a six-point gap on United in Group B with victory after recording a 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow in their opening game.

Despite going down 5-1 at Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga last week and only drawing 1-1 against Hannover at the weekend, Benaglio -- who is one of only two survivors from Wolfsburg's 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford in 2009 -- feels his side have every chance of securing three points in Manchester.

"We've worked hard to experience these games and we don't just go to Old Trafford as tourists and say 'how nice,'" he told reporters. "We will do all we can to go one better after our victory in our first match."

Wolfsburg enjoyed a successful campaign last season, finishing second in the Bundesliga and winning the DFB Pokal.

They have looked less sharp this term, however, and are currently nine points adrift of league leaders Bayern following a summer that saw key players Kevin De Bruyne and Ivan Perisic depart.

"It was to be expected that things will not always go uphill," Benaglio, who appeared alongside Marcel Schafer at Old Trafford six years ago, said. "But we should not let ourselves be thrown off track. We will continue on our path."

Wolfsburg will likely be without Luiz Gustavo on Wednesday, according to kicker, with the midfielder yet to return to team training after sustaining a knee injury last week.
