Juventus playing Real Madrid 'monsters' in UCL - Pavel Nedved

Juventus will be playing "monsters" after the Champions League semifinal draw paired them with title-holders Real Madrid, club director Pavel Nedved said after the draw was made.

Former Juve and Czech Republic star Nedved, whose club are regarded by many pundits as the weakest of the final four, said the tie would be "amazing" for the fans.

The first leg takes place at the Juventus Stadium early next month, with the return at the Bernabeu a week later.

"It's going to be amazing for the fans and for us, and we want to take our chances in these two games," Nedved told Sky Sport Italia.

"Let's say there's still a long way to go. We're up against monsters in the semifinals, but you can't make predictions.

"I'm convinced we will play two great games and then we'll see if we get into the final. We've come to the semis and we don't want to stop here."

The former midfielder warned: "It was always going to be difficult, whoever we got. I don't think there are any advantages or disadvantages. We, to go through, have got to give it our utmost in both games."

Meanwhile, Real's director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueno said he felt the club had gained "a little advantage" by being drawn to play the home leg second.

Asked on Canal Plus whether he was happy to have avoided the stronger -- on paper -- Bayern Munich and Barcelona, the former forward said: "You never know, as last year in theory we had the most difficult draw [against Bayern Munich] and by the second half in Munich it was very relaxed.

"They are a great rival, defend very well, and are tactically a team prepared for maximum demands. Having the second game at home in theory is best, a little advantage. But we want to get a good result in the first leg.

"We are Real Madrid -- any player at the club has the level to take on any challenge. We are facing a fascinating tie for the players and the fans, so it is very attractive tie.

"Carlo [Ancelotti] has lots of experience and, for sure, he will find way to do Juve damage."

The draw brings Madrid back together with their former striker Alvaro Morata, who left the Bernabeu for Juventus after growing frustrated at a lack of opportunities at his boyhood club.

And Butragueno said: "Morata is having a sensational season. We are delighted for him. He deserves it, as he is hardworking and now showing his great potential."
