Andre-Pierre Gignac: I want to stay at Tigres for the rest of my career

Andre-Pierre Gignac says he would love to finish his career at Tigres after helping the Mexican giants to the Liga MX title.

After a 1-1 draw at home in the final's first leg to neighbours and bitter rivals Monterrey, Gignac was part of the Tigres team that secured a famous 2-1 win on Monday to claim the national crown.

It is Gignac's third Mexican title since crossing the Atlantic in 2015 after leaving Marseille. His form has been such that he earned a place in France's Euro 2016 squad, but he won the last of his 36 international caps in October 2016.

Though the emergence of Kylian Mbappe has meant he has since been pushed out of the international picture, at 32, he has no thoughts of moving clubs.

"I would like to finish my career at Tigres, that would delight me," Gignac, whose contract is up in June 2018, told AFP.

"We're the biggest team in Mexican football. We suffered a lot, but we played with heart."
