Tottenham's first Champions League home game to be played at Wembley

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that they will play their first home Champions League match of the season at Wembley after reaching an agreement with UEFA.

The club have had to delay the opening of their new stadium due to safety concerns, with their next two home games in the Premier League also now taking place at the national stadium.

Spurs will play at home on either matchday one or two of the Champions League, with both dates between domestic home fixtures against Liverpool (Sept. 15) and Cardiff (Oct. 6).

No mention was made in the club statement over whether the remaining home Champions League games will be played at Wembley or the new stadium, should it be fit for purpose.

They also have plans in place should they receive a home draw in round three of the EFL Cup, set to take place week commencing Sept. 24.

Spurs can apply for special dispensation from the EFL board to reverse the fixture or play at a neutral venue, as both the new stadium and Wembley are unavailable during this week.
