Harry Kane became Tottenham Hotspur's all-time leading goal scorer in the Premier League era in netting two goals in the 4-0 victory over Everton on Saturday.
Kane, 24, scored his brace from close range in the second half to make sure all three points stayed with the home side at Wembley, and took his tally to 98 league goals in just 135 appearances.
The England captain moved past Teddy Sheringham, who netted 97 goals for the North London club but needed 236 games to reach that number.
"It's something I'm very proud of but it's on to the next one, just keep going and these boys are great at setting me up," Kane told BT Sport. "We've got to just keep winning games as a team and hopefully I'll keep scoring.
"I might have been offside [for his first] but sometimes you get them sometimes you don't. It went my way so I'm happy."
Kane remains firmly on course to win the Premier League's Golden Boot for a third successive season, with his latest double taking him onto 20 goals for the campaign -- three more than Liverpool's Mohamed Salah. Kane also became only the third player, after Thierry Henry (five seasons) and Alan Shearer (four), to score 20 Premier League goals in four successive seasons.
The striker broke Shearer's Premier League record for goals in a calendar year in 2017, netting 39 times. He also scored a total of 56 goals for club and country -- more than any other player in Europe's top five leagues.
Jimmy Greaves' still holds Tottenham's all-time goals record of 266 goals, and Kane said he hadn't yet set his sights on reaching that milestone.
"Let's see what happens," he said. "I try to keep my goals a bit shorter than that. Month-by-month I'll set a target, but who knows what will happen."
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino praised his "fantastic" striker, saying Kane "deserves all the credit and a lot of praise."
"He's unbelievable, the way he's able to work, his willingness," Pochettino said. "He's always trying to improve, improve, improve, and score goals for the team. His mentality is collective and that's so important. He scores but his mentality is to help and to work for the team.
"That makes him a special player. Not only talented but in his mind he tries to help ad playing collectively. His effort is for the team."
