Moussa Sissoko not in Tottenham Hotspur squad for ICC

Moussa Sissoko is one of four notable omissions from Tottenham Hotspur's squad for the International Champions Cup matches in the United States.

Spurs say France international Sissoko has a virus, but he has been linked with a transfer following a dismal maiden campaign for Spurs after joining from Newcastle from £30 million on transfer deadline day last August.

Spurs left Federico Fazio, Clinton Njie and Nabil Bentaleb out of their preseason trip to Australia last summer and all three players subsequently left the club on loan.

Danny Rose (knee), Erik Lamela (hip) and Son Heung-Min (arm) also remain at home while they continue rehabilitation from surgery. Lamela is expected back no earlier than September but Son should return for the opening day of the season at Newcastle on Aug. 13.

Spurs, who left for Florida on Wednesday afternoon, have included a host of young players without a senior appearance in the travelling party: young goalkeepers Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman, defenders Kyle Walker-Peters, Jon Dinzeyi and Jaden Brown, and midfielders Anthony Georgiou, Will Miller and Tashan Oakley-Boothe.

Spurs play PSG in Orlando on Sunday before facing Roma in New Jersey on July 25 and Manchester City in Nashville on July 29.
